Zapraszam na seminarium organizowane w Instytucie Biologii Ssaków PAN w przyszłym tygodniu we środę (12 marca) od 10:00 do 14:00, które odbędzie się na sali konferencyjnej i online.
To otwarte seminarium łączy międzynarodową grupę badaczy zajmujących się ochroną i odtwarzaniem europejskich lasów pierwotnych o wysokiej wartości przyrodniczej. Skupi się na szwedzkim krajobrazie, silnie przekształconym przez intensywną gospodarkę leśną – około 70% lasów zostało co najmniej raz wyciętych.
Eksperci omówią metody identyfikacji i ochrony tych cennych siedlisk, łącząc nowoczesne technologie, takie jak uczenie maszynowe, z analizą krajobrazu (włączając LIDAR). Zostaną poruszone kwestie historii środowiskowej oraz roli inicjatyw odbudowy i ochrony przyrody w zachowaniu bioróżnorodności.
Seminarium podkreśli pilną potrzebę opracowania strategii opartej na dowodach naukowych w kontekście unijnego prawa o odbudowie przyrody. Prezentacje połączą badania ekologiczne z polityką, pokazując przykłady działań na rzecz równowagi między gospodarką leśną a ochroną przyrody, by zachować te unikalne ekosystemy dla przyszłych pokoleń.
